For the sax "gearheads" out there (like me!) here's what I currently play.  My setup will change slightly depending on the situation, but here's what I play most of the time.  If you would like to know my opinion about equipment, just drop me an email.  I really like to talk saxes!

Soprano

Antigua A590BC.  This is a great horn for a great price.  I just sold my Selmer Serie III because I like the Antigua better.  Is it built better?  No, it's not, but it plays better and I take care of my horns, so it's held up well, so far!  The mouthpiece that I use is a Morgan Jazz - J8 facing - with Vandoren #2 (blue box) clarinet reeds and a Winslow ligature.  I like the Vandoren V16's, too, but the clarinet reeds are just a bit more "lush" sounding.  I have not recorded with the Antigua, yet, but I've used it live many, many times and it's just fun!

Alto

My alto is a 1964 Martin Magna.  It's a vintage horn with a very lush, dark low end.  There are horns that feel better ergonomically, but the sound from this horn is fat!  I use a Beechler Diamond Inlay S8S mouthpiece with Vandoren ZZ #2 1/2 reeds and a Winslow ligature.

Tenor

The tenor that I play is the very best horn that I've ever played, bar none.  It's a Selmer Super Action 80 Serie II with a sterling silver Selmer thin-wall neck.  I use a stock Otto Link NY 8* mouthpiece with Vandoren (blue box) #2 bass clarinet reeds and a Francois Louis ligature.  The bass clarinet reeds just give me a bit more flexibility in my sound and allow me to be expressive tonally.  When I need a bit more power and edge (which is RARELY) I use a Berg Larsen  140/0 SMS with the same Vandoren #2 bass clarinet reeds.
